The Sachsenburg became the home of El Sur Stud
With the acquisition of Sachsenburg Castle on the outskirts of picturesque Neustadt an der Orla in Thuringia, we laid the foundation for our new entrepreneurial activity, the development of our own thoroughbred horse breeding with a small agricultural organic business. Notary appointment was already in April 2019; the acquisition took place on 17.04.2020.
After a thorough examination and elaborate approval procedures, with numerous obstacles due to “Corna measures and Co.”, the complete demolition of the old, dilapidated and partially collapsing buildings followed in February 2021.
Spring 2022 marked the start of the construction phase of the new facility. A residential and administrative building, two stable buildings, a warehouse and a walker with an exercise hall were built, which we were able to present to a wide audience at the end of last year.
We were able to make our first breeding experiences with our polo mare “Gaviota”, who is currently still at home at the Polo Stud Schockemöhle. We already have 3 products from her: Guapa (by Gete Rubi), she is in training, Gala (by Gete Rubi) and Golondirna (by Open Guillermo).
This year it got serious in the thoroughbred breeding: the first 5 pregnant mares have been at home here since Christmas. Yes, and already on January 26th we were happy about a healthy, very lively colt.
Our first filly is here!
Our first filly was born on January 14, 2020 at around 5 a.m. at the Schockemöhle Polo Stud. The mother -our Gaviota- and the foal were and are well.
Happy new YEAR 2020!
We would like to thank all friends, partners, sponsors, patrons, fans and supporters for a successful 2019 and look forward to many shared experiences and successes in 2020. We wish you all a lot of health, happiness and success in the new year and the racing faction...
